Our history
Seatower was founded in 2008 by a team of experts and engineers from the Norwegian Oil & Gas sector.
Having worked on the large concrete gravity foundations for extreme North Sea conditions, they clearly saw the applicability to offshore wind.
Over the next decade, the team focused on R&D for both the physical technology and supporting software. After an Approval in Principle from DNV, the technology was successfully demonstrated in full scale at the Fécamp Innovative GBS project in the English Channel.
In recent benchmarking performed with a major OEM and a major developer, the concept is shown to be at cost parity with monopiles for 15MW turbines and the most economical solution for larger ones.
